*Togo- traditional ink is made from the tuitui candlenut. Processing the hulls and nut these particular works have been made with ink harvested with tuitui from the village of Liku.
As a contemporary heritage practitioner Cora-Allan is constantly exploring materials and surfaces to create work on. This particular large study was developed during a project with Melbourne based clothing designers Nancybird who will be releasing a range next year featuring Hiapo motifs and patterns from contemporary drawings like this one.
This is one of many studies that have accumulated in Cora-Allan's archive and will be released slowly as Wickliffe continues to build a body of traditional and contemporary works to further develop a steady hand and techniques that do not use Western tools for measurement.
