Tāmata Reo is a collective of pictographs. As mnemonics, these glyphs are markers for Te Reo Māori and Niue language. It extends upon indigenous forms of writing and is an educational tool. Tāmata Reo seeks to encourage positive attitudes towards Māori and Pacific language through art and design.

Vicktoria Johnson is a moana artist/designer of Maori and Niue heritage living in Tamaki Makaurau. Her mahi toi is influenced by her lived experience. Art as a means to challenge the norm, Johnson's mahi constantly responds to the societal structure that she exists in. Tāmata Reo is to reclaim, to revitalise language as a means to navigate.
