Shoes by artist Vaimaila Urale is part of her Faikakala Series, presented at Art Ache, Auckland in 2017. The stories were originally conceived and presented as part of Tableaux, a video installation in 2009. These stories are based on Urale's personal experiences navigating life as a Samoan woman.
