Ahi hoops are hand woven harakeke whiri set in a hoop. Each pair is then covered in a karakia of strength and protection that is embodied by its circle shape. The circle never ends and neither will the blessing bestowed upon them.

Pigment information: We use harakeke kakariki for these earrings. Once worked they dry and with a pigment change to a delicious clay like colour. The more sunlight they are exposed to the more pale the colour will become.

Earring Fittings: We work with gold plated and silver plated products sourced from Aotearoa and sometimes overseas. Our products are all hypo-allergenic. You can have either hook or stud finishes for earrings. Hooks are perfect if you have stretched ears and wish to have some Ahi Hoops in your life. 

Preparation Time: Creating a pair of Ahi Hoops takes 5 days, from harvesting to adding the finishing touches.
