These are a smaller version of our mugs, they are perfect for a shorter drink, made especially for long black coffee. Made with a sturdy handle, with a two finger grip, they are thrown on the potters wheel in brutalist clay and doubled dipped in bespoke hōrua glaze.

Hōrua means baked kōkōwai in te reo Māori, kōkōwai is a deep red brown earth pigment, culturally and spiritually important to māori, used in decoration and ceremony. Hōrua is inspired by kōkōwai and this glaze is a celebration of wild uku/clay and earth pigments. It is a deep red glaze with chocolate brown stain glaze. The brutalist clay is a hard waring clay, that has a light feel and concrete look.

The small mug are almost half the size of our large mugs, they are around 7cm tall and 7cm wide, perfect for small hot drinks, like long black or as part of a tea set.

All Thea ceramics are hand made so sizes and colours vary, they are dishwasher safe and are intended for everyday use.
