Punga stone - grey marble
The form of these stones are based on waka punga/anchor stones.
Avara decided to use reo Māori in naming these as the kupu aligned nicely with the way she thinks of them: bundles of uku to help ground yourself by observing the soft/bumpy/glassy surfaces of them in your hands.
Loop your punga stone onto your keychain or wherever it can be close to you!
This punga stone is made from offcuts of leftover larger nerikomi pieces, with a combination of grey and white clay mixed to create a marble effect.
Approx 5cm in width.
