Te Kore, Whakapapa, Io - Digital Prints

Printed matte on 300gsm, A4 paper, these works show a progressive journey of healing and hope through the time of COVID 19. Te Kore the darkness and endless potential from which all is created and all must walk through. Understanding the process of Whakapapa which leads you to the space in which you now stand. Io represents the wrestle of decolonizing understandings of Io and the workings of Christianity. Paint as a medium provides texture, increasing the idea that healing and growth are never easy but are necessary for progression.
Each print is signed and dated on the back and includes a backing board and archival sleeve.

Atarangi Anderson is a multidisciplinary artist who works with textile design, photography and jewellery. In 2017, Atarangi had her first solo exhibition, Rangituhia, and her first solo fashion show, Inkycat. In 2018, Atarangi curated a group show titled House of Wa. 2019 she took part in multiple group, Art space, Snow White gallery. Her work is often focused on human experience and our social environment. Her work draws on her Mori roots and the journey of continually finding your equilibrium in a modern world as an urban Mori.
