Whenu reflects a sense of intimacy, as the inner fibres of harakeke, muka lays soft and close to our skin. these works are twisting and stretching of feminine forms as we bring fibe close together to adorn ourselves.

About the artist
Atarangi Anderson is a multidisciplinary artist who works with textile design, photography and jewellery. In 2017, Atarangi had her first solo exhibition, Rangituhia, and her first solo fashion show, Inkycat. In 2018, Atarangi curated a group show titled House of Wa. 2019 she took part in multiple group, Art space, Snow White gallery. Her work is often focused on human experience and our social environment. Her work draws on her Māori roots and the journey of continually finding your equilibrium in a modern world as an urban Māori.
